Here's a few recent examples of the types of edits I make! Everything you see below was made in Adobe After Effects.

project: what is [clairvoyance]?goal: To create a brief video about my creative process & personal branddescription/process: Created a logo and opening animation with accompanying sound effects. Sourced the audio and base footage from various anime. Then, I added animated text and extra effects before processing everything through an external monitor. Through the monitor, I created custom tape glitches for transitions between clips. Finally, I took the output and edited the footage into one video.

project: iwannaBdowngoal: To make visuals inspired by late 90s grunge, early 2000s iTunes commercials, and Frutiger Aero graphics.description/process: A short looping motion graphics lyric video. After finding the audio, I started looking for clips with blank backgrounds. Each clip is heavily edited using glitch effects, text animations, and lots of shape layers! The intro was added later on using AE's 3D camera system. Once edited, I ran the video through a VHS tape for a rewind effect with extra glitches. The final version was edited again so that it loops back to the beginning.

project: divine timinggoal: To create a typography-focused edit utilizing motion graphics that visually synchronize with the lyrics.description/process: A lyric video made using a mixed media approach. This project wasn't very planned out aside from the "energy never dies" clip. Everything else you see was a spontaneous choice I made, from the handmade paper rip transition to the little shapes, lines, and text that move throughout the video. I took inspiration from certain graphic design trends/styles commonly seen on Instagram. Besides the beginning shot, the only clips I used were from an old anime.

Hey! I’m Miles, a New York-based freelance video editor & graphic designer.I’ve been using After Effects for 9 years and my specialization lies in making immersive & nostalgic edits with different forms of media. I often work with VHS tapes and a CRT monitor to make content that feels like a lost memory!My work always starts off as an idea or something I can picture in my head when listening to music.
